The deadline has passed, and we have two post-deadline pinch hits. These will be due Wednesday, June 20 at 7 pm EDT (although I'm open to negotiating another deadline).

Pinch Hit 3
1) Valjean, Javert. Fanfic. So, some general stuff first. I ship these two like the postage is free, but that doesn't mean I'll be unhappy with friendship or even some character study on just one of the two. I don't care about the rating of the fic; you can write me pure gen or porny porn and it's all good by me. Please do not make them be too much worse to each other than they are in canon, and give them an ending that is at least hopeful if not happy. (I'm willing to count "and then things go more or less the same way they do in canon up until Javert tries to kill himself" as hopeful.) If you're going to write smut, I don't have any problem with kinks, but when it comes to these two and what I'm actually INTO... I'm pretty tame. A little power exchange maybe, a little pinning each other to the wall or the bed or something maybe? (I read kinkier stuff for them often, but the kinkiness itself doesn't usually do much for me. And I'm more of a porn with feelings person than a PWP person in general.) As far as canon sources go, I was surprised to discover that I love the brick and thus I also love thoroughly brick canon grounded fics, but if you are purely a musical or movie person, or your story idea will work better with musical or movie canon? Go for it; I was a musical fan first. (I will also probably have watched Shoujo Cosette and the 1978 movie by the time stories post in this exchange; they're both pretty high on my list of stuff I ought to watch.)

I really like classic fanfic tropes, and there are an awful lot of them that have never or only rarely been done for Valjean and Javert. Spontaneous telepathic bonding! Huddling together for warmth! Fake marriage or marriage of convenience. All of those things are pretty bulletproof for me. Any other trope that forces the characters involved into situations that are more intimate (either/both emotionally or physically (but not necessarily sexually) than they would otherwise have been on their own is also probably a trope I am interested in. (Not a fan of A/B/O or other bonding tropes that involve fixed roles, though.) I would especially like to see some tropey tropefic set in the M-sur-M era with some delicious identity porn as the cherry on top, but that's just a bonus.

And I guess I'll just throw some other stuff at the wall and see if any of it sticks for you, feel free to mix and match:

- character study for either or both via interacting with one or more Amis at the barricade

- point of divergence AUs, as long as the point of divergence isn't Valjean's characterization (i.e. don't make him knowingly choose not to save someone)

- Valjean being a ridiculous do-gooder, either in M-sur-M or Paris, bonus points if he's got company (whether it's Javert or not)

- Javert trying to navigate the idea that sometimes people who have broken the law deserve help with whatever situation made them think that breaking the law was the best option they had, and being the awkwardest turtle at it, especially when he gets it right and they react like Fantine in the brick when she thought Javert was the one who said to let her go

- or anything else in which Javert's dignity receives a fatal blow, really

- also Javert really needs a hobby, or a cat, or both

- I will basically never get sick of anything dealing with Valjean preventing Javert from killing himself and/or what follows, whether it's a new take on it or something that would give me alcohol poisoning if there were a post-Seine fic drinking game

2) Javert, Jules Nabon-Devaux. Fanfic. 

If you have offered M. Nabon-Devaux then I assume you have either written one of the fine stories he already features in, or are at least a fan of them. I am terribly charmed by Jules and his GIANT CRUSH on Javert and would like to see them interact more. You could write me Jules being smitten while Javert is totally oblivious, you could write me something where they are actually each other's primary or only ship, you could write me porn with characterization, you could write me casefic, you could throw in anybody else you want from the Prefecture soap opera as long as the focus is still on the two of them, you could mix and match from that list, it's all good.

Now claimed! Pinch Hit #4

1) Valjean, Javert, Cosette. Fic. I really love domestic Valvert, cute mutual pining and awkward Javert, Valjean, and Cosette family shenanigans! Any Valjean and Cosette interaction is great, I'd especially love to see some teenage Cosette content. 

Post-Seine domestic hurt/comfort would be lovely.

2) Javert, Valjean. Fic, Art. I'd love to see Montreuil-sur-Mer NSFW Valvert, with some serious sexual tension, mutual pining, maybe some awkward seduction attempts going on! 

Some bondagey stuff, and clothing porn, maybe some breathplay would be great, I don't really care who's the dom/sub.
